Best Practice Tools

In order to strategically and methodically evaluate each of The Broad Prize finalist districts, The Broad Foundation has developed The Broad Prize Framework for School District Excellence.

Based on research of best educational practices, the framework consists of a set of standards used to assess critical aspects of a district. Accordingly, the framework is organized into three categories of performance: Teaching and Learning; District Leadership; and Operations and Support Systems. Within each of the three performance categories, there is a series of "indicators" that signal whether research-based effective practices are in play.

The best practices of the 2007 and 2008 Broad Prize finalist districts are organized using this framework and are available for review via the links below.

Check back later for the best practices of 2009 and 2010 Broad Prize finalist districts.
